The evening wind sighs his name
Calls him to us
Mom weeps
Falls to the ground
He shimmers above her
Offers a sound
Like a thousand small diamonds
He is the night sky
He disappears
Swallowed by glittering stars
He is farther away than ever
Again.
Janene Grodesky is a professor in the department of kinesiology at a large southern university. With an undergraduate degree in communication and journalism, one of her long-time passions has been writing. She is interested in exploring the dark edges along our human fault lines, and how we wear masks to hide them.
