Best not spend the night here then—
I share the place with thirteen cats.
The windows rattle
in the throat of night,
and of course, we keep the lights on.
We don’t get many strangers here.
The cats
will surely cross your path.
Not a good thing
on these slippery steps
if one of them catches you
sleepwalking
