Midnight Moon by Albert Schlaht

a scythe
   an hourglass
      and time to kill

amongst the corn
shoes . . . and further along
their owner

out of a corpse
a fattened rat . . .
and a beetle

midnite moon
at peace with the frosty night
his body

A native of Big Sky country, I reside in the Rocky Mountains, where I enjoy hiking, fishing, and cool mountain breezes that blow down streams, chilling my mind and enticing my imagination to splatter onto paper in the form of poems and flash fiction–at times, the ink is fairy blue, but on occasion, a black ink exits from darkness within, birthing words from the macabre.
