In purple shadows
Trees twist, turn to the mountain
Roots clutch each other.
Windless silence broods
Trapping the tortured spirits
That sought pain’s release.
Hungry spirits lurk
Offer transfiguration
Relief from sorrow.
Trembling leaves whisper
Beckon you to leave the path
Lure you from the light.
Misty spirits rise
Bind with invisible ropes
Your scream awakens.
Dreams become nightmares
Mere mortal to damned demons
Reject temptation!
Monk extends his hand
Pulls you back to the blessed path
Returning your soul.
Marcia A. Borell has never encountered an art medium she didn’t like. As she began doing more and more illustration work, she discovered that she loved to pair writing with illustration. That was when she discovered drabbles. These 100-word tales became one of her favorite writing activities. Then along came horrorku and a new love for expressing thoughts where once again every word has to hold its own.
