Born in Colombia, Ocean grew up in Miami Beach with a love for the macabre, literature, and the sea. They studied at Sofia Art Academy, a Russian atelier, for six years and graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate in Arts in the summer of 2019.
Most recently, their work “Gravity” has been nominated as a merit winner for the 3×3 Illustration Annual No.19.
Their work aims to unravel the mysteries of the self and lack of personhood as it pertains to a world that often pushes those who don’t belong into self-annihilation.
As of now, they currently reside in Miami after a few years away with their pet pigeon Ari and can often be found sketching at their local Starbucks or going through the shelves at nearby thrift stores.
