Gobbler’s Revenge
gorged on tryptophan
dream of headless turkey squawks
gobbler’s revenge
Bob stalks a turkey
then plunges down sharp-staked hole
which turkey got stuffed?
it’s Thanksgiving
at Halloweeners’ Spook House
they eat each other
No Merry Christmas
“climate change, ha ha!”
Santa heard from Lake North Pole
got coal for Christmas
blinding howling wind
bloody saucer smears in snow
where is my snowman?
Christmas at Spook House
Santa got stuck in chimney
you don’t want to know
Gary Davis enjoys exercising his imagination through crafting dark or darkly humorous haiku and other forms of poetry. He finds haiku in particular both challenging and fun. Mr. Davis has published haiku in Scifaikuest, Star*Line, Tales from the Moonlit Path, and a Lester Smith Halloween anthology (2016-2019). He has published other poetry in Tales of the Talisman, Bloodbond, Illumen and a sci-fi anthology, Kepler’s Cowboys (2014-2019). Mr. Davis loves all things classic horror; he grew up on Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine years ago. He has two spooky Halloween tales in Frostfire Worlds (2016-2017), and another one coming out this fall.
